The Challenge
As Junior Doctors practising in the Kenyan Healthcare system, The Co-founders became verse with the barriers that impede Healthcare at thepatient level. Lack of patient awareness which included lack of knowledge onpreventive health practises, knowledge of Non-Communicable diseases whichoften cripple the livelihoods of the middle-age and ageing in our community.
This results in poor health seeking habits and a burden to the society at largewhen complications arise. Lack of awareness on the adoption of the NationalInsurance Scheme have left manyfamilies weighted by hefty medical bills incurred in the management of NCDs.It is in this breathe that we saw a key gap that we as a Medical Communitycan address outside the time limits of clinical hours.
